The first win hit me like caffeine straight to the vein.

That One Klaviyo Flow That Actually Made Money While I Slept

I built a abandoned-cart sequence:

  • 1 hour after cart abandonment → gentle reminder email with the exact items + 10% off
  • 24 hours later → slightly sassier follow-up (“still thinking about those sneakers?”)
  • 72 hours → last-chance with free shipping

Used dynamic product blocks pulled straight from Shopify. Added AI-generated subject-line variants (Klaviyo’s tool, not gonna lie).

Sent it live on a Thursday night while eating cold pizza on the couch.

Woke up Friday to +$1,800 in “recovered” revenue notifications before I’d even had coffee. I literally said “no way” out loud to an empty kitchen. My wife thought I was losing it.

  • ChatGPT + Jasper hybrid → I write 70%, let AI clean up grammar and suggest hooks, then rewrite half of it again because it sounds like corporate robot sometimes.
  • Triple Whale or Northbeam for ad attribution → finally stopped guessing which channel actually works.
  • Zapier + Make.com → Frankenstein automations I barely understand anymore.

The Dumb Stuff I Still Do Wrong

  • Keep adding new tools without killing old ones → now I have four different places tracking “lifetime value.”
  • Let AI write entire LinkedIn posts → posted one that said “unleash your inner synergy warrior” and got ratio’d immediately.
  • Ignore A/B test statistical significance → declared a winner after 300 impressions like an idiot.

Where I Think MarTech Transforming Marketing Heads Next

Zero-party data is gonna be huge because cookies are basically dead and iOS tracking is a joke now. Tools that make quizzes or preference centers fun instead of annoying? Those are winning.

Agentic AI workflows—stuff where the tool doesn’t just suggest, it executes entire campaigns with human approval gates—are already creeping in. Saw a demo last month that scared me a little.

But real talk: I sometimes miss when marketing felt scrappier. When you could charm your way to results instead of needing six-figure tech stacks. There’s a quiet sadness watching the craft get eaten by efficiency.

Still. Results speak louder.

MarTech transforming marketing turned me from someone who dreaded analytics into someone who checks dashboards first thing in the morning like it’s Instagram. It’s messy, expensive, occasionally soul-crushing, but damn if it doesn’t work when you finally figure out the right pieces.
